Research on Indigenous Games

The Consortium for Sustainable Development  (CSD) was established from the collective vision of eight organisations that recognised the need to pool their resources, expertise, and efforts to drive broader and more sustainable community impact.

In March 2024, with the same spirit of collective effort, CSD raised $60,000, courtesy of the Global Fund for Children (GFC), for research on how Indigenous games can be incorporated into teaching. This initiative resulted in the production of an Indigenous Games Toolkit (which is yet to be published). The funding laid the groundwork for the pilot phase, enabling the consortium to carry out essential activities such as data collection, game documentation, toolkit design, educator training, and school-based implementation in selected communities.

An additional $14,500 reinforced these efforts by supporting community engagement sessions, monitoring and evaluation, and refinement of the toolkit.
