Education

Teachers from Amos Youth Center date Reachall in Livingstone.

As part of our Education Programme, which aims to promote collaboration among NGOs to share best practices and resources, the Amos Youth Centre undertook a peer learning visit to Reachall Zambia in Livingstone.

In alignment with its ongoing efforts to enhance inclusive education practices, Amos Youth Centre facilitated a trip for its teachers, who travelled from Kafue to Livingstone. Both organisations are active Consortium for Sustainable Development (CSD) members. Amos Youth Centre primarily works with young learners and students with disabilities, making this exchange a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, strategies, and experiences with fellow educators.

The peer learning programme began with a visit to Mwandi Community School, one of Reachall’s key sites for implementing literacy clubs. Here, teachers from Amos had the chance to observe learners participating in a literacy club session, guided by a dedicated club mentor.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of Mukuni Big Five Safari and the magnificent Victoria Falls, one of Zambia’s most iconic landmarks. It is recognised as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Building Bridges Through Play and Learning: Amos Youth Centre Visits Natubelenge Children’s Library

Natubelenge Children’s Library (NCL), in partnership with The Paideia Project, had the pleasure of hosting Amos Youth Centre from Kafue at NCL library in Lusaka. The purpose of the visit was to share stories and engage in open, honest conversations about the achievements and challenges each organisation has experienced over the years.

The day was characterized by fun and interactive activities, including board games and indigenous Zambian games played alongside the children who are members of the Natubelenge Children’s Library. The Paideia Project also showcased a range of well-crafted learning aids from their Eco Classroom Project, giving attendees a chance to explore innovative, hands-on teaching tools.

“We played, laughed, and learned together, making the visit a shared experience rooted in community and collaboration.”- Miranda

A heartfelt thank you to Global Fund for Children for making this experience possible.
